How to Fix Beeping Sound of an Oxygen Concentrator

If you are suffering from some sort of serious lung or any respiratory problems, then an oxygen concentrator must be with you. However, we all are aware of the fact that a machine can get down at any time and so is an oxygen concentrator. It has been observed that most people usually have a beeping problem in their oxygen concentrator.

If you have tried all you could, then it’s important for you to take a look at the following points that you should do according to the problems.

1. An alarm is beeping without lights on: If this happens, then it is a sign of power loss. You can try unplugging and re-plug the unit, if this doesn’t work, then make sure that the breaker switch on the front is not tripped at all. However, if the suggestion doesn’t help you out, then you may have a bad switch or power cord. Call a professional service provider that can help you out with the same.

2. An alarm is beeping but the Red light is on: This may be a power issue. Try using the suggestion mentioned in point 1, if that doesn’t fix it, then maybe your cabinet filters are clogged and your unit is overheated. To avoid the problem, remove and clean the cabinet filters located on the concentrator side portion. Subsequently, you have to wait a few minutes until your oxygen concentrator becomes cool.

3. An alarm is beeping but the Green light is on: This could be the sign of the improper oxygen flow. Make sure that the flow meter is turned up enough. Another thing is that something could be blocking your line, make sure that the line should be free from any obstructions.

4. Red or Yellow Light Illuminated: Make sure you start checking things right from step 1 and if you are still unable to fix the beep sound then the oxygen purity level isn’t sufficient or there may be an internal leak. Always keep this in mind a concentrator has to produce up to 92% of the O2 level and this can be measured with an oxygen sensor. However, if your oxygen concentrator isn’t offering more than that, then you should call for a professional service provider that can help fix the beeping sound.

5. If Green with Yellow Light is Indicating: It indicates that the problem is inside the concentrator, only a professional could help you out.
